Anaglyph images
Anaglyph images are used to provide a stereoscopic 3D effect, when viewed with 2 color glasses (each lens a chromatically opposite color, usually red and cyan). Images are made up of two color layers, superimposed, but offset with respect to each other to produce a depth effect. Usually the main subject is in the center, while the foreground and background are shifted laterally in opposite directions. The picture contains two differently filtered colored images, one for each eye. When viewed through the "color coded" "anaglyph glasses", they reveal an integrated stereoscopic image. The visual cortex of the brain fuses this into perception of a three dimensional scene or composition.
Types of glasses
During the time a lot of color systems were used. You can take a look at Wikipedia article for Anaglyph images. Currently there are two systems in wide use:
- Red/Cyan. This type is used widely until the last few years. Left eye glass is red colored, the right one – in cyan. It is believed, that red makes the eyes tired, so it is recommended to use them for short period of time.
- Blue/Magenta. Used for the last movies like My Bloody Valentine 3D, Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D and Coraline 3D. As there is no red filter those movies are full length type (about 90 min.)

How to make stereograms?
Firstly you have to make a pair of images. I can suggest three ways to do that:
- Buy a stereo camera
- Create pictures with usual camera
- Create Google Earth screen-shots.
After that you can install the plug-in and create an anaglyph!
